Unlimited Talk, Text and Data

Was just surfing T-Mobile's website and found out that they're offering a new no contract 4G monthly plan for $30 a month. The new plan includes 100 minutes of talk time with unlimited messaging and unlimited data (the first 5GB is at 4G speed).  BUT this is only offered to new subscribers.

The old $30/month plan is still being offered with 1500 of talk/text with 30MB of data.  This is a good move for T-Mobile. I used to have the old plan and oftentimes ran out of data by the 3rd week.  Good for new subscribers, they now have the option to shell out 30 bucks a month for unlimited data.

Since I'm not eligible for that I might as well stick to the $50 unlimited talk, text and web. Or, I can go back to the 1500 talk/text with 30MB of data and use my Globalinx DTA Talk 200 and GSP-10 Softphone for voice and video calls.

If you want to compare the 4G monthly no contract plans, they can be found on this link.

VoIP

Finally got my Globalinx DTA 200 today. I ordered it last Friday was shipped Saturday and delivered this morning via USPS Priority Mail.

Unboxed it and checked the contents - the DTA 200 telephone adapter, an Ethernet cable and a Power Adapter.

It was pretty easy to install. If you have a router just insert the blue Ethernet cable to the blue WAN port of the Telephone Adapter and connect the other end of the Ethernet cable on an available port on the router (usually there are more than 2 ports, you can use any of them).

Next step is to insert the Power Adapter into the Power Connection and then plug the other end to a wall outlet. Wait for 5 minutes for the DTA (phone adapter) to fully boot up before placing a call.

Connect a standard touch-tone phone to the DTA by inserting the phone cable to the phone 1 port and connect to the other end of the phone cable to the telephone.

When the phone 1 LED status light turns a solid color your Globalinx VoIP phone is ready to use.

Easy. If you want to watch the video just click the tutorial on my previous post.
